Purpose
In a nutshell The Style Guide is your editorial style guide — not a visual or design guide. It trains Tofu on your voice, tone, and writing rules.
The Style Guide is optional. If you don’t have one, leave it blank — you can always add it later.
Format: content-focused, not visual
- Don’t include: colors, fonts, logo guidelines (those belong in a visual brand guide, not here)
- Do include: writing rules, tone, vocabulary, editorial standards
What makes a good Style Guide
Focus on “always” and “nevers” — concrete rules Tofu can apply consistently.
Good examples
- “We never use these words when referring to our product: [list]”
- “We always talk about it as a platform, not a tool”
- “Always use active voice”
- “Never reference competitors by name”
- “We use American English spelling (not British)”
Not helpful
- “We speak with an authoritative tone” — too subjective; Tofu learns this from templates
- Visual brand elements (colors, fonts) — not relevant here
How to add your Style Guide
You can add your Style Guide in any of these formats:
- Bullet points typed directly
- PDF upload
- Link to a Google Doc
Heads up The Style Guide is optional. If you don’t have one ready, leave it blank — you can always add or update it later.
